Our big boy!

I decided that I needed to update the blog today...I took this picture of my little guy after Church a couple weeks ago. He's getting so big.
If you can believe it I took him to buy some flip flops a couple weekends ago and his feet are the same size as mine!!! He's only ten for crying out loud!! I keep telling him to stop growing up but he just won't listen. What's a Mom to do?
Hugh has just started his new job this week. He is now the
Chief Pilot for Governor Sanford. We are so thankful that he was able to find another job so quickly after MUSC closed their flight department.
I am still enjoying my extended vacation..ha ha! I was laid off from my last employer in November. But truly I have been enjoying being an at home Mom for a while...I would feel more worthwhile though if I had little ones at home depending on me, but I wasn't blessed that way and will have be happy with the one I have.
And for Adrian I am truly grateful! He is enjoying the fourth grade, being in Webelos Scouts and taking piano lessons once a week. He is a good kid and has a kind heart, what more could you ask for?

Here is our new home...we began construction in mid April and moved in on Dec 4th. We are so happy with the results!

It was a great deal of work and we learned so much from going through the process. We worked very hard as a family and did as much work ourselves as we could. Even Adrian did a lot to help his Dad and Mom.

We put in 12 Palmetto trees and will finish the landscaping in the spring by laying sod and including some other plantings as well. We hope to have a visit from Margie in the spring to give us some suggestions as she is the expert on all things green! :)

Welcome to the new Blog!

Welcome to the new blog...I thought that this might be a fun way for family and friends to keep in touch with what our family is up to as I am terrible at sending cards, newletters etc. Love me anyway?!
If you are on Facebook I try to update there as well...but once I get back to work who knows how long this all might last. Once again...Love me anyway?!
Over the next few weeks I hope to download photos and write more to keep you informed of our family's activities...for example tonight Adrian goes back to Cub Scouts as a Webelo! He is so excited...we went to the Scout Store yesterday and got his new book, hat, slide and scarf. He is looking forward to the new year. We so hope his new Den Leader works hard too!
